Factory Five Racing was founded in 1995. Over the years we have grown from a start-up business in a small garage to become the world’s largest manufacturer of "build-it-yourself" component car kits. We employ a full-time crew of about 40 people, and are located in Wareham, Massachusetts (about an hour south of Boston). We make our products right here in the USA, in the heart of New England where American manufacturing was born.

From Track to Street: Ben F.’s Factory Five Challenge Car
For five years, Factory Five customer Ed Boothman and his team competed in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in a modified Challenge Car. After the 2012 event, the car was retired, and eventually sold by Ed. Jesse L. Scores Autocross Top Time of Day in Mk4!
Like so many of us, Jesse L. has been thinking of owning a AC Cobra since he was young. His dream became a reality in February 2025 when he purchased his Factory Five Mk4 Roadster kit to start building with his daughter, Claire. 22Rally Cruise to Factory Five
22Rally is a New England based organization of volunteers who raise funds and awareness for charities. On Saturday, June 6th, 2026, they cruised to Factory Five to check out our demo cars in the showroom and go for a tour of the facility. Club members started to arrive around 10:30 in the morning, and it was fun seeing the parade of cars filling our parking lot. It’s officially car show season everywhere, and 12 Factory Fives in SoCal met up at the Cars and Coffee event this past Saturday in San Clemente. Among them were customers Hal C., Tim W., David H., Bud C,, John S., Kevin H., Bart H., Tony V., and Dennis A. Ron V.’s Gen 3 Coupe Shines at Speed & Style Show

Each successive version of this design has made the car faster, stronger, safer, and easier to build. When we launched the Mk4 version in 2010, it was intended to be, as I described, "One last bite at the apple," and so the changes to the Mk4 were the most dramatic of all versions to that date.
As we kick-off our 30 year anniversary, we are entering production on an all-new generation of our Roadster, the Mk5. Many of the changes are profoundly revolutionary that take the design to unmatched heights, while some of the changes are evolutionary that simply improve existing parts and designs.

The Race Version of the Gen 3 Coupe
The Type 65 Coupe-R is based on the complete kit version of the Type 65 Coupe, but made for professional competition. The largest difference between the Gen 3 Coupe and the Gen 3 Coupe-R is that the Coupe-R comes with a competition cage chassis (powdercoated in white like all Factory Five competition version chassis).
