Last night’s St. Jude JAM was another successful year of the program’s ninth Factory Five charity car build to help fundraise for the children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year’s Factory Five Roadster went for $125,000! All money raised goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
This year, Olivia spent some time posing with the finished car! Olivia had Neurofibromatosis, and is currently in remission! She is this year’s St. Jude Purple Eagle (a St. Jude child in treatment with a relative that works at FedEx).
The 2023 build car is one of the nicest ever built in a PPG Metallic Frozen Dark Grey paint with Metallic Tuxedo Black stripes, 17″ Halibrand rims, Moser 8.8”/3.5 ratio positive-traction rear end, Wilwood Disc Brakes, Koni shocks, and 450 horsepowered Gen 3 Ford 5.0L Coyote engine with TREMEC TKX transmission.
Unlike the previous builds, pilot Mike Bray was, “able to get the Coyote engine from Ford Performance and transmission and bell housing from TREMEC free and clear!”
Imagine completing a full Factory Five Roadster build in just four days to help raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. This is what Pilots of FedEx volunteers do each year.
This year the team of builders included: Pro Builder Ronald Everitt, Michael Everson, Shon Driscoll, John Beach, Kyle Jensen, Doug Forsythe, Mike Bray and St. Jude Staff members JD Peeples and Kevin Nienhuis. Sponsors included: Factory Five, FedEx, FedEx Master Executive Council, Ford Performance Parts, Tremec, Landers Ford, Reliable Carriers, PPG, Wilwood Brakes, AutoZone, Moser Engineering, Koni, and Baker Pond Hot Rods.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to lead the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer. Treatments invented at St. Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80%.
