4th Annual Huntington Beach Event a Huge Success
Factory Five customer Mike Hartman won “Best Roadster” for FFR 5868 and “Best Ford Engine” presented by Jesse Kershaw of Ford Racing
Factory Five customers turned out in droves for a perfect 70 degree sunny day at the world famous Huntington Beach Pier for the 4th Annual Huntington Beach Cruise-In. Car show awards, sponsor companies, a huge crowd, and special guests made this year’s event THE most fun cruise-in ever.

There was a row of 85 Factory Fives shining in the SoCal sun…Awesome!
Factory Five builder John Cameron (below with Dave Smith) took home 3 awards and his stunning orange Mk3 Roadster earned “Best in Show – Overall”. John also won “Best in Show” at the AHA-Pomona show the weekend before.
At 12 noon, Factory Five’s Dave Smith announced, “Start ’em up boys!” as the Moment of Thunder tribute witness 85 Factory Fives and more than 25,000 HP come to life in a wonderful tribute to Factory Five guys no longer with us.
Karen Salvaggio earned a Factory Five Legacy Award for her amazing contribution to the community.
Hot Rod Magazine Editor Rob Kinnan shared his Editor’s Choice Award with the crowd
Factory Five customer and event organizer Dave Hodgkins earned the other Factory Five Legacy Award (along with Karen Salvaggio)
Factory Five Racing customer and owner of the most autographed Factory Five “Kermit,” Steve Moriarty won the highest accrued mileage award with 82,000 miles on his odometer.
Thank you to all of the Factory Five customers who attended this year’s Huntington Beach Cruise-In. We are already planning for next year’s event, but I wanted to personally thank customers Dave Hodgkins, Karen Salvaggio, Glenn Evans, and Mike Brassfield for their tremendous work in helping organize the event. Also, credit goes to Factory Five’s Sally Bean for managing Factory Five’s side of the event.
