When I’m not building cars at Factory Five, I enjoy surfing here in New England. One of my close friends, Kreg Palko, who I’ve surfed with for years has recently been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Kreg is one of those guys who you are proud to say is one of your friends. Kreg has a beautiful family. His son Kyle is graduating this year from the Air Force Academy. His daughter Gabby is a freshman at Colorado College, and his wife Elizabeth is one of the most warm and genuine people I know.
There’s a golf tournament fundraiser coming up in a few weeks that I wanted to tell you about. Sally here in Marketing told her family about Kreg, and her son Tieg decided to host a golf tournament fundraiser using his charitable foundation. To make this tournament fun and to help raise money, I decided to offer my 427 FE powered vintage Mk3 Roadster for a Hole-In-One Contest.
Kreg Palko (Right) with my buddies Nick Ward and Chris Burns.
Here are the details:
The Pink Whales Foundation is proud to bring back the Fall Classic Golf tournament, a 2 man scramble event that is all about having fun and raising money for a great family that is reeling from a recent ALS diagnosis.
Kreg Palko grew up as an athlete, playing football for Air Force, he was an extremely active adult, always exploring and surfing any chance he had with his surfing club buddies. It’s so difficult to imagine being deprived of these activities, let alone the loss of your extremities. Supporting Kreg and his family is something that PWF is extremely fortunate and thankful for YOUR financial donations.
This October 27th, we’re venturing to the Indian Pond Country Club, a beautiful private course down in Kingston, Massachusetts. You can check out their website here: www.indianpondcountryclub.com
The Sunday of October 27th is slated to be a day filled with memories and hopefully more than a few spectacular shots. There will be complimentary BBQ, free Dark and Stormies, plenty of opportunities to win prizes, and two chances for someone to hit a hole in one for a trip to Bermuda or a free Factory Five Racing Car!
All of the funds raised from this event are going directly towards the Palko family, who have been struck with life changing circumstances, a situation that all of us can sympathize with. This is a great opportunity to give back in any way we can which will assist them in the future.
